Head of Human Resources

Our client, Bathco is a globally active trading and technology group specialising in Green Aluminium, raw materials and solutions essential for industrial decarbonisation. Headquartered in Zurich, we operate across key international markets and combine physical trading, circular materials, industrial technologies and sustainable production solutions.
As an entrepreneurial and fast-growing organisation, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on:
Reporting to the CEO, you will take ownership of the Group’s people agenda and work closely with the management team and business leaders across our international operations.
This is a strategic and operational role. You will shape how Bathco attracts, develops and retains talent, while ensuring that our HR processes remain effective, pragmatic and reliable.
Responsibilities :
Group HR Leadership

Take ownership of the Group HR function and further develop Bathco’s HR strategy, structures and processes.

Translate the Group’s business and growth strategy into clear people, organisation and workforce priorities.

Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO, management team and business leaders on organisational, leadership and employee matters.

Support the continued development of Bathco’s entrepreneurial, accountable and performance-oriented culture.
International Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

Lead recruitment processes across Bathco’s international operations, with a particular focus on commercial, technical, specialist and leadership roles.

Work closely with managers to define role profiles, identify suitable candidates and manage efficient, high-quality selection processes.

• €¢
  
Develop and maintain relevant candidate networks, recruitment channels and external partnerships.

• €¢
  
Ensure that new employees experience a professional and effective onboarding process.
Organisational and Leadership Development

• €¢
  
Support the design and continuous improvement of organisational structures, roles, reporting lines and responsibilities.

Develop pragmatic approaches to performance management, talent development and succession planning.

• €¢
  
Advise managers on team effectiveness, leadership development, employee engagement and performance issues.

Identify organisational gaps and propose practical solutions that support sustainable growth.
HR Operations and Governance

• €¢
  
Ensure effective HR operations across the Group, including employment documentation, employee data, policies and core HR processes.

• €¢
  
Act as the central point of contact for HR matters across Bathco’s international entities.

• €¢
  
Coordinate with local management, payroll providers, legal advisers and other external specialists where required.

Ensure appropriate HR standards while taking account of local legal and operational requirements.
Compensation, Retention and Group Projects

• €¢
  
Support management in relation to compensation, bonus, retention and selected employee participation matters.

• €¢
  
Contribute to workforce planning, annual salary reviews and the continued development of competitive employment conditions.

Support acquisitions, new office setups, integrations and other strategic Group initiatives from an HR perspective.

Lead selected organisational and people-related projects across the Group.
Your Profile:

• €¢
  
Approximately 7 to 10 years of broad HR experience, ideally gained in an international, entrepreneurial or mid-sized business environment.

• €¢
  
Strong generalist expertise across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, organisational development, HR operations and adequate Swiss labour law experience.

• €¢
  
Proven experience managing recruitment processes independently, including specialist and senior appointments.

• €¢
  
Experience advising senior managers and handling sensitive personnel matters with discretion and sound judgement.

• €¢
  
Commercial mindset and the ability to understand the priorities of different business units.

• €¢
  
Strong ownership mentality and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change and important matters sometimes require flexibility.

Able to create effective structures without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.

High level of integrity, empathy and resilience.

Excellent written and spoken English, ideally also German. Additional languages are an advantage.Experience in commodities, industrial businesses, trading, technology or internationally active SMEs would be an advantage.
